This is Prog Rock at its finest!

John Lodge and The 10,000 Light Years Band’s latest release, The Royal Affair And After (Live), is an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. This amazing tribute to the music he played during his time in The Moody Blues from the 1960s to the 1980s does not disappoint.

Recorded live in Las Vegas during The Royal Affair Tour, in 2019, this ten-track suite plays like a soundtrack of John’s life, and is a celebration of not only The Moody Blues but also, their fan’s old and new alike.

Carrying on the music of a generation, and passing it on throughout the decades of the band’s existence, this commemoration of music features such moments as the late Graeme Edge reading off “Late Lament” from the classic album, Days Of Future Passed, which then segues into the always triumphant, “Nights in White Satin.” The track is granted further depth and cache in being accompanied by Yes’ very own Jon Davison.

Simply put, if you love this music, this is an experience no one should miss.

On the whole, The Royal Affair And After (Live) consists of classics that John wrote himself for the Moodies, such as “Ride My Seesaw,” and “Steppin’ In A Slide Zone.” John’s burning passion and fire to play the music which has come to define his legacy is readily apparent throughout The Royal Affair And After (Live).

In short, The Royal Affair And After (Live), as an album, and experience, has done a fantastic job in keeping this music alive. We hope everyone who listens to these tracks for the first time can appreciate it as much as not only John does, but many of us fans as well.
